Government Housing Bank Supports LGBTQ+ Co-Borrowers in Thailand
In June 2022, Thailand's Government Housing Bank expanded co-borrowing access for LGBTQ+ applicants and launched its MY PRIDE home-loan product.

Thailand's Government Housing Bank (GHB) promotes rights, freedom, and gender equality in Thai society. In keeping with its mission to "help Thai people own a home," it supports LGBTQ+ individuals in more easily obtaining housing of their own, for the happiness, security, and better quality of life of themselves and their families.
On June 27, 2022, it was reported that GHB had revised its lending conditions so that LGBTQ+ individuals may now apply for a joint loan together, effective immediately and covering every loan product.
As with joint loans between spouses, siblings, and parents and children, the bank also added new lending options by launching a new product, the MY PRIDE Home Loan. For the first three years the interest rate is MRR minus 2.40% per year, currently equal to 3.75% per year (based on the bank's announced MRR, currently 6.150% per year). From the fourth year through the end of the loan term, the interest rate is set by the bank.
The loan is available to general customers and to customers with a loan benefit through the bank, for the purchase of a home, a condominium unit, or vacant land that is a second-hand property of the bank, with a repayment term of up to 40 years. Applications and legal transactions could be submitted through December 30, 2022.
