The Love Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Thailand that focuses on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment for key affected populations through condom promotion and rapid HIV testing.  Through partnerships with community-led clinics and established health organizations in Thailand, our mission is to use the power of online social networks to provide education and counseling on HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs).  We support the LGBTQ+ community by providing opportunities for leadership and work for aspiring LGBTQ+ people in our projects and organization.

Love Foundation’s work

Enduring stigma against HIV/STIs act as social barriers to effective prevention and treatment.  In addition to the Bangkok metropolitan area, we reach out to key populations in the north, south, and eastern regions of Thailand by highlighting varying regional attitudes towards HIV prevention and treatment.  Here are highlights of our on-going projects:

Buddy+: A community of people living with HIV and those affected by HIV/AIDS who come together to share and exchange experiences and opinions and to be part of our community, helping to develop and strengthen it, reduce fear, and raise awareness in society, so as to lower the number of new infections and give people living with HIV a better quality of life.

The Buddy Plus website is a platform designed specifically for the community of people living with HIV. Its purpose is to create a friendly and safe space where people living with HIV can find new friends, exchange opinions, and access information about treatment. It is also a place where users can support and encourage one another to live a good-quality life with HIV.

The Buddy Plus website offers a wide range of features to meet the needs of the HIV-positive community, including discussion forums, private chat rooms, articles and updates about treatment and managing life with HIV, and resources for social and emotional support.

Through this website, people living with HIV can feel that they are not alone, with a community ready to listen and share experiences together, which can have a positive effect on their mental and physical health. The Buddy Plus website is therefore a valuable tool for building a society that understands and supports people living with HIV so they can live better lives.

HIV Map: A country-wide search tool that lists the nearest HIV/STI clinics for individuals located anywhere in Thailand.

Love2Test.org: An online booking platform open to everyone that promotes HIV prevention, testing, and treatment. Its aim is to raise awareness, increase testing, and help people learn how to protect themselves.

Health Ambassadorship Program:  A partnership program for influencers in the LGBTQ+ community who wish to help campaign against HIV/AIDS stigma.

The Speak OUT Campaign: Speak OUT is an online campaign run under the Love Foundation to reach young men who have sex with men (MSM) in Thailand.

It invites them to talk openly about their own status and to share knowledge and understanding about HIV and sexually transmitted infections — the risks, prevention, and treatment — as well as the effects these have on daily life in today’s environment and society.

At the same time, it encourages these young people to get tested for HIV and STIs regularly, in order to reduce new infections and to help those living with HIV receive prompt treatment. The campaign is meant to be a voice that prompts society

to recognize the problems that exist and to build correct understanding among the general public about living together in society with people living with HIV. This campaign is shared through its website, social media, and various forms of promotion.
