The Love Foundation Campaigns for Sexual Health Awareness and Understanding
We are an organization that tries to make a difference through social media outreach. Our mission is to use the power of online social networks to provide as many people as possible with good information, advice and counseling on HIV/AIDS and other Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs).
Education, Empowerment, Inspiration and Love: that is what the Love Foundation is about.
At the Love Foundation, we believe that honest open communication is vital to create wider awareness about HIV and other STIs. Awareness leads to the breaking down of community stigmas of sexually related diseases. Enduring stigmas on STIs act as social barriers to effective prevention and treatment and results in discrimination and exclusion of key populations. The understanding that (sexual) health rights are human rights and requires an empowered inclusive community to promote them, is central to Love Foundation’s philosophy.
The Love Foundation takes action in a variety of ways. Besides reaching out to key populations and the wider community through online social networks, our activities include an online service to book a STI test at the Love Foundation Clinic and sexual health counseling services online and at our clinic.
Our values center through human rights and self-determination. Our approaches are youth and community-led, core strength based, sex positive, and evidence focused.
I want to help provide as many people as possible with correct information about how to prevent sexually transmitted diseases. I try to widely disseminate correct information about prevention, detection and treatment. Only when this information is available will those involved be able to correctly assess risks and consider the best way to take care of themselves.
Many young Thai people still lack proper judgment when it comes to preventing HIV infection. They don’t consider the consequences of their actions because they lack the basic information to do so. I would like to reverse this dangerous trend among the pleasure-loving youth of today.
I want to create awareness that having the HIV virus doesn’t have to be terrifying. With proper treatment it is possible to live a normal life in society. I want to help everyone find out their status and learn how to take care of themselves.
