Although the disease <strong data-start=\"445\" data-end=\"479\">cannot yet be completely cured<\/strong> in patients with chronic infection, consistent and appropriate treatment can <strong data-start=\"557\" data-end=\"598\">suppress the virus to very low levels<\/strong>, minimizing damage to the liver and helping patients maintain good health.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"677\" data-end=\"745\">In general, treatment can be divided into <strong data-start=\"719\" data-end=\"743\">two main approaches:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 110%;\"><strong>1. Immune-Stimulating Injection Therapy<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"801\" data-end=\"1012\">This treatment uses <strong data-start=\"821\" data-end=\"853\">interferon-based medications<\/strong> such as <em data-start=\"862\" data-end=\"880\">Interferon-alpha<\/em> or <em data-start=\"884\" data-end=\"906\">Pegylated Interferon<\/em>.
